Ted Randolph and Dan Schwartz Receive Vaccine Stabilization Patent

A patent for technology used to stabilize freeze-dried vaccines to withstand temperature extremes has been awarded to ChBE ProfessorsTed RandolphandDan Schwartz. This technology has applications in developing-world vaccination, as well as biodefense.

The CU Technology Transfer Office began prosecuting this family of patents, which includes multiple issued and pending patents in the U.S. and internationally, in 2007. The patent (U.S. 8,808,710, “Method of Preparing An Immunologically-Active Adjuvant-Bound Dried Vaccine Composition”) was issued on August 19, 2014.
