In March Boulder resident听Jonathan Cherry听(Mktg鈥�04, MBA鈥�11) married Mari Kawai. The couple met in Germany in 2004 and traveled together throughout Europe and Asia. Jonathan works for Dish in the marketing department.

Estey Realty Group opened a branch in Louisville, Colo., and is co-managed by听Malia Maunakea听(Bus, CivEngr鈥�04). Estey Realty is a full-service residential real estate brokerage serving Boulder and Broomfield counties. Malia lives in Louisville, Colo.

Boulder resident听Sean Smith听(BioChem鈥�04) married Leah Carbonara in July. Sean received his doctorate in organic chemistry from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.

Caplan and Earnest announced that听Coulter Bump听(Law鈥�05) joined the firm. She practices law in the areas of business, education, real estate and lifestyles of health and sustainability. Coulter lives in Englewood, Colo.

At the Albuquerque Duke City Marathon in 2010听Adrian Chavez听(MCompSci鈥�05) qualified to participate in the 2012 Boston Marathon. In April Adrian finished the marathon with a time of 3:29:51. He lives in Albuquerque.

Davis Graham & Stubbs announced听Andrew Fiske听(PolSci鈥�05) joined the finance and acquisitions department as an associate. He concentrates his practice on middle-market mergers and acquisitions, commercial finance, emerging growth and venture capital transactions representing both buyers and sellers in health care, energy and technology. He lives in Denver.

Since graduating听Jeremy Gruber听(Film鈥�05) writes that he is on the front lines of advancing and protecting the rights of medical marijuana patients. He lives in Boulder and wrote a letter to the editor that appears in this edition of the听Coloradan.

In February听Kevin Heinz听(Jour鈥�05) performed at Loaded Joe鈥檚 in Avon, Colo. In 2011 he released his self-produced album听Kevin Heinz & Friends,听which features a full band recorded in professional and home studios across the state. Kevin lives in Vail and performs his original music with friends and fellow musicians.

In May the 2006 Bolder Boulder winner听Sara Slattery听(Bus, Econ鈥�03, MEdu鈥�05) ran in the Bolder Boulder鈥檚 International Team Challenge for Team Colorado. Sara works at the wellness program for WhiteWave Foods, a Broomfield company that makes soy milk and organic foods. 鈥淚 really enjoy being able to use my business degree but also staying involved with running and getting people involved in the sport,鈥� she told听The Denver Post.

Jeffrey Tabor听(IntlAf鈥�05) lives in northern Spain and owns an English academy with his wife. He writes that he would like to get in contact with CU alums who live in Europe.

Littleton, Colo., resident听Catherine Boone鈥檚听(PhDAstro鈥�05) innovative payload launched into orbit on听Endeavor鈥檚 final mission, STS-134.听Her project, named STORRM (Sensor Test for Orion Relative Navigation Risk Mitigation), aimed to verify her team鈥檚 development of a new navigation and docking system that will ensure safer, more accurate docking operations for future spacecraft. She works at Lockheed Martin.

Working for the U.S. Agency for International Development has kept听Michael Aguilar听(IntlAf鈥�06) busy. The former Alumni Association student assistant traveled in the spring to China to teach conflict resolution techniques at a Chinese university during a three-week period. He lives in Arlington, Va.

Wish of a Lifetime is the nonprofit organization of two-time Olympic skier and former NFL football player听Jeremy Bloom听(A&S ex鈥�06). The foundation鈥檚 mission is to enrich the life of seniors and to grant their wishes. In April the foundation granted the wish of Russel Taylor by sending him and his wife to renew their vows where they first met in France.

Former CU football player听Alexander Ligon听(Soc鈥�06) was diagnosed in the spring with acute myeloid leukemia. He and his wife welcomed their first child this summer. Friends and family members are raising money for Alexander鈥檚 medical expenses through the website rally.org/ligon.

After working six years at CU in the office of admissions听Katie Malone Hartung听(Comm鈥�06) resigned to explore the world. She traveled to Africa last fall and writes that she is taking the opportunity to further her travels with her husband听Tyler Hartung听(Fin鈥�06) who works for the Unreasonable Institute and was The Herd director at the Alumni Association for several years after he graduated.

Since graduating听Meredith Clements听(Phil鈥�07) spent several months in rural Tanzania helping create a self-sustainable project for disadvantaged women. In June 2008 she started as assistant editor of the听Sun Sentinel.听She works as editor of the weekly section, which publishes a magazine-format paper for Broward and Palm Beach Counties. She lives in Fort Lauderdale, Fla.

On Anna Maria Island, Fla., couple Jen Kuck and听William Hensley听(Fin鈥�07) were married in April. William is a credit underwriter at Flatirons Bank. The couple celebrated with a two-week trip to Italy.

CU graduates听Mary Isgro听(IntlAf鈥�07) and听Tom McDonald听(Psych鈥�06) will marry Sept. 28 at Chatfield Botanical Gardens in Littleton, Colo. Mary is an international tour consultant and Tom is a product development manager.

In March听Carey Kohout听(Bus, Econ鈥�07) traveled to Reykjavik, Iceland, to explore and learn about Nordic culture. She writes that on her trip she gained a better understanding of how the country is working to recover from the Icelandic financial crisis of 2008. Carey also visited the Blue Lagoon natural hot spring, the Gullfoss waterfall in Hv铆t谩 canyon and the geysers of Haukadalur. She lives in Greeley, Colo.

Megan Badwan听and听James Krueger听(Fin鈥�07) were married in August. Megan is pursuing a master鈥檚 degree in education psychology at CU and is a graduate admissions coordinator at the Metropolitan State College of Denver. James is pursuing a master of business administration at Regis University and is an analyst at Charles Schwab.
