Denihan Hospitality Group in New York, which owns and operates boutique hotels across the United States, promoted Patrick Chiappetta (Hist鈥�04) to corporate director of restaurants and bars. Patrick began his career at Bloom Restaurant in Broomfield, Colo., and then worked at Frasca Food and Wine in Boulder. He lives in Washington, D.C.

The national law firm Quarles & Brady an- nounced that Jennifer听M. Jackson (EPOBio鈥�04) joined the firm鈥檚 Milwaukee office as an associate in the corporate services practice group. Jennifer received her law degree from Marquette University.

CU-Boulder couple听Stephen Koelemay (Psych鈥�04) and Megan Emmett (EnvSt鈥�08) married on Sept. 28 in Longmont, Colo. Stephen is a post-doctoral fellow at CU-Boulder鈥檚 Counseling and Psychological Services. Megan is a digital marketing manager.

The American Political Science Association named听Erica Chenoweth听(MPolSci鈥�04, PhD鈥�07) winner of the Woodrow Wilson Foundation Award as the co-author of her book听Why Civil Resistance Works. The award is given annually for the best book on government, politics or international affairs.听The book examines factors that enable nonviolent resistance campaigns to succeed and, sometimes, fail.听Erica is an assistant professor at the Josef Korbel School of International Studies at the University of Denver and an associate senior researcher at the Peace Research Institute of Oslo.

After reaching out to all 32 NFL teams,听Patrick Gleason听(Comm鈥�04) landed a job as public and media relations manager for the Baltimore Ravens, the 2013 Super Bowl Champions. He covered the team鈥檚 win at the Super Bowl in Louisiana and attributes his professional successes to the education he received at CU-Boulder and to his internship with CU鈥檚 sports information director听Dave Plati听(Jour鈥�82).

CU-Boulder professor emeritus of civil, environmental and architectural engineering听Kenneth Strzepek听(MEcon鈥�04) has spent 30 years as a researcher and practitioner of engineering, environmental and economic systems. His research primarily relates to water resource planning and management, river basin planning and modeling of water resources systems. Ken lives in Lexington, Mass., and serves as a research scientist in the MIT Joint Program on the Science and Policy of Global Change.

Virginia Tech engineer听Chao Wang听(PhDElEngr鈥�04) received a three-year Office of Naval Research Young Investigator Program grant of up to $510,000. He will develop methods and software tools that detect security vulnerabilities in concurrent software running on a modern multi-core computer. Chao is an assistant professor of electrical and computer engineering at Virginia Tech. The dean of the engineering college named him the 鈥淥utstanding New Assistant Professor.鈥� Chao lives in Blacksburg, Va.

Chad Bennets听(Bus鈥�04) of Saint Cloud, Minn., married Hillary O鈥橦ara. The couple met while sitting next to each other in class while in the MBA program at Emory University. They graduated in 2011 and live in Atlanta, Ga. Chad is a senior associate at Pricewaterhouse-Coopers鈥� consulting groups.

Assistant professor at the University of Denver听Erica Chenoweth听(MPolSci鈥�04, PhD鈥�07) won the 2013 University of Louisville Grawemeyer Award for Ideas Improving World Order. Erica works in the Josef Korbel School of International Studies and won the award for ideas set forth in the book she co-authored,听Why Civil Resistance Works: The Strategic Logic of Non-Violent Conflict.听Through their research of uprisings involving more than 1,000 people from 1906 through 2006, the authors learned nonviolent campaigns succeeded twice as often as the violent ones and that governments where peaceful resistance took place were far more likely to become or remain stable democracies.

Former CU-Boulder student body tri-executive听Richard Murray听(PolSci, Phil鈥�04, Law鈥�07) and his wife听Elizabeth Janusz Murray听(Psych鈥�07) welcomed their son, Cayden Michael Murray, on Dec. 11. Richard made a lateral move to the law firm of Polsinelli Shugart in Denver, a large national firm with more than 600 lawyers, where he provides clients with general business counseling and assists in business, construction and commercial litigation matters. Richard also was elected as fellow of the Colorado Bar Foundation and chairman of the University Club of Denver鈥檚 committee on admissions.

KJZZ appointed听Adam Isaacs听(Jour鈥�04) to the board of directors for Friends of Public Radio Arizona. Adam is director of communications and sustainability at Sun Orchard. With more than 10 years of global marketing experience, he successfully led the comprehensive initiatives that have decreased annual operating costs for the company by tens of thousands of dollars. He lives in Phoenix.

Many changes occurred for听Jonathan Wentzel听(Acct鈥�04) as he was promoted to audit manager at KPMG鈥檚 San Diego office in July. Jonathan and his wife also welcomed their daughter, Isabelle, on Jan. 6. The family lives in Santee, Calif.

At California Lutheran University, assistant professor of mathematics听Christopher Brown听(PhDMath鈥�04) received tenure in May. He lives in Camarillo, Calif.

In March Boulder resident听Jonathan Cherry听(Mktg鈥�04, MBA鈥�11) married Mari Kawai. The couple met in Germany in 2004 and traveled together throughout Europe and Asia. Jonathan works for Dish in the marketing department.
