On Dec. 10, Julia Daniel, PhD student in educational foundations, policy and practice, presented at a Congressional Forum, called 鈥淐losed for Learning: The Impact of School Closures on Students and Communities,鈥� held at the Rayburn House Office Building in Washington D.C. Julia's talk, 鈥淐ommunity Schools as an Effective Reform Strategy,鈥� was one of three presentations on a panel moderated by Linda Darling-Hammond. The purpose of the forum was to engage Congressional staff and key stakeholders in a discussion on the effects of school closures on students, parents, and the community-at-large. The event featured the perspectives of national advocates, community members, and students.聽
