The NSF鈥檚 REU program provides stipends that help to recruit and retain talented students by involving research. These supplemental funds are available to anyone who already has NSF funding or is submitting a new NSF proposal.听Undergraduate student participants in the program must be U.S. citizens, U.S. nationals, or permanent residents of the United States.
Students do not apply to NSF to participate in REU activities. Students apply directly to NSF-funded investigators who receive REU Supplements.
