Student Success Team

Student Success Leaders are appointed each spring semester and serve as the face of the Emerging Leaders Program in Environmental Design. They assist in Orientation, one-on-one peer mentoring with a first-year student听and oversee key programming and workshops alongside other student organizations.听Our mission is to help all students navigate the learning curve that comes within design education from desk crits, mock pin-ups, and academic tabling to assist with first-year coursework and support. Applicants should consider the following:

Will provide support, guidance, encouragement and information to first-year mentees
Should maintain high levels of confidentiality and ethical standards
Should check-in with mentee weekly
Will meet with mentee once a month to talk about goals for the semester
Should record and report all student interaction
will help students听become familiar with university resources and advise and refer students to appropriate university听resources as needed听
Will attend mentor trainings, meetings, outings and events听
Should enroll in the Peer Mentor leadership seminar during the fall semester
Should be available听to work 5-7 hours a week

Peer Advisors

The Peer Advising program works to support undergraduate students as part of the Center for Advising and Student Achievement. This student position works one-on-one听with undergraduates on advising questions including navigating key advising platforms such as MyCUinfo, MyCUHub, Degree Audit, etc through drop-in advising and individual appointments. Students in this role work 5-7 hours per week assisting the advising center. In addition, they work alongside the Academic Coach and Assistant Director of Advising and First-Year Experience to work with students on academic alert and probation on skill-based assignments to help prepare for successful completion of a design degree. Applicants should consider the following:

Will serve as a liaison of the advising center and host drop-in advising appointments alongside the advising center
Have completed听at least one semester at ENVD
Will oversee Student Success Workshops and Group Advising Nights听
Must possess strong interpersonal, communication and time management skills
Hold a GPA of at least 3.3 or higher
