Announcing a summer 2016 Research Experience for Undergraduates (REU)Ìýprogram in Climate Change Impacts in Semi-Arid Regions at TheÌýUniversity of Texas at Austin Environmental Science Institute.

REU PROGRAM OVERVIEW

The Environmental Science Institute (ESI) of the University of TexasÌýat Austin announces an NSF-funded program during the summer of 2016Ìýfor undergraduates interested in environmental science research.

Students will be trained in laboratory and field methods applied toÌýstudies of global change and its impacts and will work on independentÌýprojects under the supervision of a faculty mentor. Project areas areÌýinterdisciplinary and encompass the fields of chemistry, biology,Ìýecology, urban ecology, policy, environmental engineering, andÌýgeological sciences. Students will participate in a weekly researchÌýseminar series, portfolio creation, and professional developmentÌýactivities. Students will also participate in field excursions related to scientific research. These 1-2 day activities may require physical exertion involving hiking, caving, camping, and/or boat rides in hot and humid weather. The summer program will conclude with a research poster session and open house.
