Dr. John聽Black聽is Associate Professor of Computer Science at the University of Colorado.聽Black聽specializes in applied cryptography as well as network and system security.聽 He is the recipient of a U.S. National Science Foundation CAREER Award in addition to several teaching awards and has written numerous technical papers. 聽Prior to his tenure at the University of Colorado,聽Dr.聽Black聽was an Assistant Professor at the University of Nevada, Reno, and a Senior Developer for Ingres Corp.聽 He has a B.S. ('88) summa cum laude in computer science and mathematics from the California State University and an M.S. ('97) and Ph.D. ('00) in computer science from the University of California at聽Davis. 聽Dr. Black is also co-founder of聽, a company that provides cybersecurity education to computer professionals who wish to become security experts.
