After receiving her BA in modern languages from Northern Arizona University, Hope Hecht completed her MA in French at the University of Colorado Boulder. Hope will be attending Washington University聽in St. Louis to pursue a PhD in French literature. Her current research examines the role of the body in medieval聽French texts. Inspired by present media, Hope explores the way 'modern' phenomenons are rooted in medieval聽practices. Her research interests include gender performance, social hierarchy, representations of sexuality, consent, and the portrayal聽of the East within premodern literature. Currently, she writes book reviews for the Society and Culture section in The French Review.
