Dear Infrastructure and Sustainability team,
I want to thank everyone who helped make this year's commencement a resounding success. For weeks leading up to graduation festivities, you put in hard work to prepare campus to get it looking its very best. Additionally, many of you answered the call to volunteer by serving as commencement marshals, leading graduates into the stadium; welcoming guests at the many events across campus; driving golf carts to make travel in the rain more comfortable; serving as accessibility ambassadors by assisting those in need with wheelchairs; coordinating waste and recycling efforts and so much more. These efforts help make the day a memorable one for our graduates and project a glowing image of the campus to the family and friends who visit. Kudos for a job well done.
To recognize your great work at commencement and throughout the rest of the year, please save the date for our Summer Appreciation Picnic on July 27 to be held at Varsity Lawn. This will be a time to honor and celebrate our entire Infrastructure and Sustainability team. We鈥檒l have some great raffle prizes and refreshments for all. Keep an eye out for more information to come. I鈥檓 looking forward to seeing you there.
I also want to share some of the exciting capital construction projects that are in the works:
I am excited about these big projects, especially from a sustainability standpoint, as we strive to make our buildings more energy efficient in both new construction and the renovation of our existing buildings.
Finally, summer is often a time to take a break from work and to rejuvenate. Staff who will have excess vacation leave on July 1 must use any overage before June 30 or that time will be lost. We value you being able to unplug and recharge, so please make sure you鈥檙e taking off the time that you have earned and rightly deserve.
With pride for all you do at CU,
Chris Ewing, interim vice chancellor for infrastructure and sustainability
