I started my career in research as an undergraduate research at the University of Florida working on soil permeability and infiltration in Florida retention ponds. I have since worked on Food System and Poverty Reduction research in Ethiopia and Colombia by investigating soil nutrient gradients and hydrological patterns in mountainous and humid conditions. I currently work to increase our understanding of sediment transport mechanisms, runoff generation, isotope hydrology, and nutrient changes amidst climatic and anthropogenic influences.
I have one MS/PhD position available starting June 2024 to model water supply reservoir dynamics in Western Massachusetts. Applicants should have modeling experience in R and Python. I am available to provide mentorship/host letters of support for students and researchers looking to conduct research on soil and water quality at UMass through applications for the Fulbright Fellowships, NSF GRFP and EAR Postdoctoral Fellowships, or the Ford Foundation Predoctoral/Postdoctoral Fellowships for the upcoming Fall 2019 Deadlines.Â
