Last year, the University of ColoradoÌýÌýhostedÌýaÌýmemorial 5K race in honor of one of the university's most distinguished fallen alumni, F-16 pilot Captain William H. "Pyro" Dubois Jr.

Dubois died in action on December 1, 2014, when hisÌýwingman’s F-16 developed mechanical issues.ÌýTrue to his character and leadership, he was escorting his wingman safely back to base when his own jet went down.ÌýHe was 30 years old.

Now aÌýsecond race honoring the fallen heroÌýis set for April 23.ÌýThe course takes runners across the beautiful CU Boulder campus.

All proceeds from the event go directly toward the fund, which helps current Detachment 105 cadets gain valuable flight experience to boost their chances of earning their own Air Force pilot slot and carrying on DuBois' legacy.
