The University Libraries and CU Student Government are pleased to recognize Nikolaus Correll and Alan Mickelson as the recipients of the 2022 Open Educator Award. Both associate professors were selected for their use of open educational practices in teaching.

Zoya Popovic of electrical, computer and energy engineering was honored 鈥渇or developing high-efficiency microwave transmitters and active antenna arrays for wireless communication systems and for engineering education.鈥�

Included in the Washington Post's 鈥�22 composers and performers to watch in 2022鈥� were two College of Music affiliates Kedrick Armstrong, a master鈥檚 student in orchestral conducting, and composer Anthony Green, who attended the Doctor of Musical Arts program.

CU Boulder鈥檚 Orit Peleg will use the support from the award to launch a novel, interdisciplinary probe of the physics of firefly communications.

Ferguson has been elected to the distinguished American Institute for Medical and Biomedical Engineering鈥檚 College of Fellows. Her research seeks to enhance human health by better understanding the materials and mechanics of the body, as well as finding effective solutions to treat patients鈥� injuries and illnesses.

The National Academy of Engineering is recognizing Argrow as a new member for 2022. The professional distinction is one of the highest an engineer can receive. Argrow has conducted major research to advance uncrewed aerial systems to increase our understanding of supercell thunderstorms that can spawn tornados.

The group of mechanical engineering seniors is the first CU Boulder team to compete in the U.S. Department of Energy鈥檚 Collegiate Wind Competition鈥攁n event in which future engineers are challenged to find a unique solution to a wind energy project.

CU Boulder's Andrew Lucas and Bethany Wilcox have been awarded the Early Career Development Program, one of the NSF鈥檚 most prestigious awards, to improve the teaching of quantum mechanics to students and to search for new kinds of fluids.
