Yoga instructor听Julie Dean听(Acct鈥�85) volunteers at Yoga Behind Bars, a nonprofit organization that sends 50 certified yoga instructors to teach in prisons and jails. In addition to teaching yoga, Julie has been a certified public accountant for 20 years and serves as a member of the yoga organization鈥檚 board of directors. She lives in Kirkland, Wash.

Vice president of the Lloyd Shaw Foundation,听Nancy Daw Kane听(Dance鈥�86) writes she is working to recall, restore and teach the folk rhythms of the American people though the foundation has a strong international dance and music component as well. She lives in Brooktondale, N.Y.

Fellow of the Pound Civil Justice Institute听Timothy Tomasik听(Jour鈥�86) moderated one of the judges鈥� discussion groups, 鈥淛ust Isn鈥檛 Free: The Court Funding Crisis and Its Remedies鈥� at the annual Forum for State Appellate Court Judges in Chicago. Jurists from all over the country were a part of the discussion, including several state Supreme Court justices. Timothy lives in Western Springs, Ill.

Proud to be a Buff,听Pam Hale Anderson鈥檚 (Law鈥�87) CU family history goes way back. Her parents and grandparents attended CU and her great-grandfather was Horace Morrison Hale, the second president of the university for whom Hale Science is named. Pam writes she has enjoyed all the historical materials CU has given her. She lives in La Crescenta, Calif.

Traveling for three weeks in Europe,听Mark Kuta Jr.听(MBA鈥�87) advertised the university abroad by wearing a CU T-shirt every third or fourth day. Mark traveled to Germany, Austria and Italy along with his wife and their two kids. Mark writes he can vouch for the CU brand as around 10 people recognized the logo. Mark lives in Denver.

On May 27听Lesley Gillis听(MTeleCom 鈥�87) and her husband celebrated their 40th anniversary with a trip to Russia. Lesley worked at Qwest and Whole Foods. She is retired but volunteers at Community Food Share. The couple has three children and two grandchildren, and Lesley and her husband live in Boulder.

Attorneys Title Guaranty Fund appointed Chicago attorney听Jonathan Sherry听(Fin鈥�87) to the board of directors. He owns and operates a law practice that focuses on residential and commercial real estate. He handles all aspects of more than 3,000 real estate and loan closings. Jonathan lives in Highland Park, Ill.

After nine months studying with Leadership Memphis,听Stephen Fimple听(PolSci鈥�88) graduated from the prestigious program. Leadership Memphis has been shaping community leaders since 1979 and seeks to build a better city focusing on diversity, collaboration and civic engagement. Stephen lives in Lakeland, Tenn.

At the first annual Brilliance Awards architectural lighting design recognition ceremony听Mark Rudiger听(ArchEngr鈥�88) received a merit award in the large-scale commercial category for his work with The RMH Group on the church history library. Mark lives in Denver.

The Active Risk Group in Maidenhead, UK, promoted听Bob Runnells听(Aero鈥�88) to director of global services to manage a staff of software consultants and trainers. Bob spent his early professional career in the Los Angeles aerospace engineering market, designing advanced composite structures for a diverse set of launch vehicle, satellite and aircraft projects. He lives in Vancouver, Wash., with his wife and daughter. He writes he is proud his company launched on June 26.

Last winter听Chris Anthony听(Kines鈥�90) paid tribute to the iconic 10th Mountain Division infantry unit with a Warren Miller Entertainment segment he shot in Colorado. The 10th Mountain Division was made famous by their unique mountain-based contribution during World War II. Chris lives in Edwards, Colo., and was featured in the March 2011听Coloradan.

Co-owner of Sewn听Kirsten Coplans听(Art鈥�91) appeared in听The听Denver Post听featuring her boutique. Kirsten is a recycler whose specialty is using old clothing to be newly fashionable. Broadcast journalist听Christine Mahoney Rubin听(Jour鈥�91) joined CU-Boulder鈥檚 journalism and mass communication program as the internship and career coordinator. She taught broadcast news courses for nine years at CU, worked as a TV news anchor and reporter in Denver, Sacramento, Calif., Las Vegas and Michigan and serves as the producer and media coach for Honk! Media.

CU couple听Jill Hunsaker Ryan听(Psych, Soc鈥�91) and听Taylor Ryan听(MechEngr鈥�03) welcomed their first child, Daxton Taylor, on May 1. Taylor works as an engineer for Eagle County and Jill ran for county commissioner. The couple and their baby live in Edwards, Colo.

The American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics selected听Ashok Srivastava听(ElEngr鈥�91, PhD鈥�96) as editor-in-chief of its听Journal of Aerospace Computing, Information and Communication. In his role Ashok is encouraging the submission of original, high-quality, theoretical and application-oriented papers that describe methods, tools and techniques that advance the state of the art in several disciplines. He lives in Mountain View, Calif.

Steamboat Springs, Colo., resident听Jeff Weeden听(Psych鈥�91) earned his master鈥檚 degree in professional studies in law firm management from George Washington University in Washington, D.C. Jeff is a partner at Feldman Nagel and became vice president of the Northwest Colorado Bar Association in June.

Gregg lives in Golden, Colo.

After working more than 12 years as an educator in Boulder听Rex West听(MA鈥�93) joined Boulder Emotional Wellness as their extern psychotherapist. Boulder Emotional Wellness is an affordable family, individual and child clinic. Rex鈥檚 experience includes counseling clients toward cultivating integrated health.
