CU couple聽Luke Mullen聽(Econ鈥�05) and聽Susan Holtzman聽(MBA鈥�10) married Aug. 24, 2013, in Allenspark, Colo. Luke grew up in Boulder and attended Regis Jesuit High School in Aurora. After graduating from CU-Boulder, he earned his master鈥檚 degree from University of Greenwich in England. Susan attended San Diego State University before CU-Boulder. The couple lives in Lafayette, Colo. Luke works as a corporate credit analyst in Denver and Susan as a national account manager in Longmont.

Writer and consultant聽Joshua Foust聽(IntlAf鈥�06) is a national security columnist who covers foreign policy, counterterrorism, targeted killings and the former Soviet Union. Previously Joshua held a fellowship at the American Security Project and worked as a senior intelligence analyst. He is a regular writer for the BBC, Al Jazeera and MSNBC. His work has appeared in PBS, Foreign Policy, The Atlantic, Salon, CNN and The New York Times.

骋耻颈迟补谤颈蝉迟听Ryan McCloskey聽(Span鈥�06) plays for the Philadelphia-based independent rock/Americana band Song Dogs.The New York Times聽featured Song Dogs and the debut of their LP Wild Country. Ryan writes his music ambitions took off on and around campus, playing guitar by Varsity Lake and on the bench in front of Farrand Hall with his friends. Ryan lives in Chester Springs, Pa.

Last year聽Matt Dority聽(Econ, Fin鈥�07) joined聽Hunter Manchak聽(Econ, Engl, Jour鈥�05) and聽Marcus Choi聽(MechEngr鈥�05) in running the 2013 Arizona Tough Mudder, a 10-12 mile-long military-style obstacle course. The event has raised more than $5 million for the Wounded Warrior Project. The three Buffs volunteered to be in a photo shoot for General Mills as part of the Tough Mudder sponsorship with Wheaties cereal. Their photo was chosen, and the three appeared on a few million Wheaties boxes.

While pursuing her doctorate degree in ovarian cancer research,聽Melissa Price聽(MCDBio鈥�07) has been working with a large consortium that is trying to identify genetic risk factors across multiple cancer types and the underlying biology of these factors that contribute to disease. For her project Melissa is performing the functional follow-up on one of these factors to see how the genetic variation affects the cellular process in order to understand how ovarian cancer arises in certain individuals. On another note Melissa and her husband聽Charles Buckley聽(EPOBio鈥�07) had a baby girl, Clara Buckley, Sept. 26, 2013. The family attended the CU-Boulder MAVEN mission to Mars weekend festivities in Cocoa Beach, Fla., in November. They live in Wesley Chapel, Fla.

The Integer Group hired聽Jaclyn Grams聽(Fin鈥�10) as senior billing specialist at its Lakewood, Colo., location. The Integer Group is an agency providing services in promotional, retail and shopper and digital retail marketing. Jaclyn lives in Brighton, Colo.

After receiving his master鈥檚 degree聽Jeffrey McCoy聽(Aero, MS鈥�10) took a job with Raytheon in Aurora, Colo., and bought a house in Parker. Jeffrey has been working with Raytheon for three years and is supporting multiple space-related programs as a software developer. Jeffrey writes the most interesting part is the ability to keep learning new things to become the metaphorical 鈥渏ack of all trades.鈥�

Second-year student at CU-Boulder law school聽Brad Revare聽(Econ鈥�10) started The Textbook Champ to help CU and other college students save money on their textbooks. The business was inspired and assisted by Brad鈥檚 father聽Scott Revare聽(Fin鈥�81) and two brothers who are CU-Boulder students, Mitchell Revare and Spencer Revare. The website is thetextbookchamp.com.

PM Environmental welcomed Challenge Detroit fellow聽Anna Balzer聽(EnvSt鈥�12) to its team as a research consultant for the national due diligence group. Challenge Detroit is an urban revitalization project that brings innovative leaders to the city to live, work, play and be leaders in the community. In addition to working at PM, Anna will work with nonprofit organizations throughout the year to help with multimodal transportation, homelessness and community development.

On June 22, 2013,聽Katie Sandven聽(Econ鈥�12) and Zachary Bren were married in Denver. Katie works as a pension specialist at Nationwide Financial. The couple lives in Columbus, Ohio, with their son.

After graduating in May聽Brian Ash聽(Econ鈥�13) moved to rural western Kenya where Arrive, the nonprofit organization he founded, is based. Arrive staff work with abandoned and impoverished children by giving them a place to live at Keumbu Rehema Children鈥檚 Home. At CU-Boulder Brian worked for the Environmental Center as a bike mechanic at the campus bike shop.

Denver resident聽Renata Garbowski聽(Psych鈥�13) is a representative for City Year Denver, an AmeriCorps organization made up of 2,000 members ages 17 to 24 from diverse racial, cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds for a year of full-time service. Members serve throughout Denver and 24 other national sites developing after-school programs and tutoring students.
