The Davidson Honors College at the University of Montana appointed Brock Tessman (MIntlAf, MPolSci; PhD’04) as dean. Previously, Brock served the University of Georgia as an associate director of the Center for the Study of Global Issues, where he won numerous awards for teaching.

The Denver-based Fruition Internet Marketing team hired Mark Kranjcec (Mktg) as director of strategic partnerships. After graduating from CU, Mark worked for the Daily Camera as retail advertising director. He also has worked at Prairie Mountain Media and is a volunteer for B Strong Ride, an annual bicycle event that honors cancer survivors.

Historic Columbia named Sean Stucker (Engl) its director of facilities. Sean, a native of Columbia, S.C., is responsible for maintaining the organization’s historic buildings and structures. He previously worked with Trinity Design & Build in North Carolina. He holds a master’s degree from the University of Georgia in historic preservation.

Dana Whitelaw (MAnth; PhD’10) has worked in wildlife conservation and education for more than 20 years. At CU, she focused on the ecological strategies of ring-tailed lemurs in southwestern Madagascar, where her work led to doubling in size of a reserve. A native Oregonian, Dana serves as executive director of the High Desert Museum in Bend, Ore.

After serving as a communications officer in the U.S. Marine Corps, working for Space Systems Loral in Palo Alto, Calif., and for Eaton Corporation in Costa Mesa, Calif., Adam Brammer (Mgmt) was promoted to plant manager at a $300-million, 900-person Parker Hannifin aircraft actuator manufacturing plant in Irvine, Calif. The plant manufactures aileron, rudder and stabilator actuators for almost all existing military aircraft.

After nine years in Oregon, two-time Olympian Kara Wheeler Goucher (Psych) and husband Adam Goucher(Comm’98) decided to move back to Colorado. Kara’s running career has been complicated by injuries, and she is eager to train again under her former CU coaches, Mark Wetmore and Heather Burroughs.

This September Ron Geschwer (Psych’01) and his wife Desiree Bandelier (Psych’08) were married. The pair met at an event in New York City hosted by the local CU-Boulder alumni chapter, which Ron serves as president. Desiree is on the chapter’s board.

Meredith Moseley (Engl, Mus’01) demonstrated her Buffs pride at her wedding this summer. She represented CU colors on her homemade garter and added the Ralphie logo to her slip. Meredith says she, her aunt, Carolyn Borgos(PhysTher’69), and her college roommate, Heather Doty (Mus’00, CivEngr, MS’01, MBA’10), sang the CU Fight Song at full volume. “Even though my husband, Joel Pattinson, is a Wyoming Cowboy,” she says, “I love him dearly.”

Olympic runner Kara Goucher (Psych’01) dropped her 12-year contract with Nike for a sponsorship with Oiselle, a seven-year-old Seattle-based women’s running apparel company. Kara also returned to Boulder to work with her former CU coaches, Mark Wetmore and Heather BurroughsĚý(·ˇ±Ę°żµţľ±´Ç’99).

This spring, he visited CU-Boulder to connect with liberal arts students by giving a talk, “Applied Humanism: Using the Liberal Arts to Help People Live Well.”

Denver-based national law firm Brownstein Hyatt Farber Schreck earlier this year announced 11 new shareholders, including Kristin MacDonald (IntlAf’01). She works in Brownstein’s corporate and business department and focuses her energy on mergers and acquisitions, debt and equity financing and public and private securities offerings. Kristin, who lives in Boulder, has worked with some of the nation’s larger companies.
