KurbySitterley

Kurby has been a student at CU Boulder since 2010. He earned his undergraduate degree in environmental engineering in 2014 and his MS in 2015, and has continued to a PhD under Professor Karl G. Linden. For his MS, his research focused on pretreatment technologies for hydraulic fracturing wastewater that could enable beneficial reuse. His PhD dissertation will focus on characterization of dissolved organic compounds in hydraulic fracturing wastewater using mass spectrometry and their transformation during different treatment technologies. An overarching goal for his career after graduation in water treatment and management is to encourage potable and non-potable water reuse in as many different places as possible.
