The site is generally considered the first university-sponsored web site to track the early history of developments in the international net art scene. During its formative years which took place between the years 2000-2007, HIAFF was built by digital art students in taking classes with Professor Mark Amerika inside the TECHNE practice-based research lab at the University of Colorado in Boulder. In the archive, visitors will find email and video conversations with pioneers of early net art, streaming media performances, student net art, multiple net art exhibitions curated by students, early experiments in electronic sound, writing and publishing and, yes, many dead links. If you see a dead link that you can bring back to life, please email us at amerika@colorado.edu.
