During its 55+ year history, theÌýUniversity of Colorado Retired Faculty Association (CURFA)Ìýcoordinated at the System Office,Ìýhas acted on behalf of faculty retirees and their spouses in the protection and expansion of retiree benefits, the continued participation of retirees in the life of the university, and the maintenance of contacts among and activities for retired faculty.ÌýÌý

With the initiative and efforts of the CURFA executive committee members, the new University of Colorado Boulder Retired Faculty Association (UCBRFA)Ìýwas specificallyÌýcreated in January 2020Ìýfor CU Boulder retired faculty. UCBRFAÌýaims to facilitate successful retirement experiences for current and soon-to-be retirees, andÌýencourage retired faculty members to remain actively involved in academic, educational, scholarly and cultural activities on the Boulder campus. The association is supported and funded by the Office of the Chancellor, the Office of the ProvostÌýand the Office of Faculty Affairs, and is closely allied with the Boulder Faculty Assembly (BFA).

UCBRFA welcomes members from all categories of retired and soon-to-be retired CU faculty, their spouses and domestic partners, and members of the Boulder community with an interest in participating in the association’s activities and programming.

VISION: The CU Boulder Retired Faculty AssociationÌý(UCBRFA), acknowledged and supported by the campus administrative leadership team, enables retirees to contribute their expertise and experience to campus and community life with the objective of furthering the missions of their institution.

MISSION: To celebrate the role of retired faculty for their many years of service to higher education, to their students, and to the University of Colorado Boulder to provide a forum for the special concerns and interests of its members; and to extend their association with distinguished friends and colleagues, with the University, its programs, and its future.

AFFILIATION: The UCBRFA is affiliated with the CU Boulder Office of Faculty Affairs and reports regularly to the Vice Provost and Associate Vice Chancellor for Faculty Affairs.
