Intsruments

The analysis PC is configured with an Intel Xeon 6 core 2.4 GHz processor, 32 GB RAM, NVidia Quadro K4200 4GB video card, and dual 24" monitors. ÌýIn addition to the standard free software including ImageJ, FIJI, and Cell Profiler, this PC is equipped with full versions of Nikon NIS Elements (including SIM reconstruction) and 3i Slidebook 6 software.

The upright Leica DMRXA microscope is equipped with a wide range of objectives, filters for four color imaging with a xenon lamp, motorized X, Y, and Z, and a CCD camera. ÌýThis instrument is capable of image deconvolution using Slidebook 6 software.

The upright Nikon E600 widefield microscope is equipped with a range of objectives and filters for four color imaging using a xenon lamp. ÌýThis microscope has a monochrome Nikon Digital Sight DS-Qi camera for fluorescence imaging and a Spot Insight color camera for brightfield imaging (e.g., histology samples). ÌýThis instrument has phase contrast capability and a motorized Z drive.Ìý

The inverted Nikon N-SIM/A1 microscope is a combination structured illumination microscopy (SIM) and laser scanning confocal microscope. ÌýSIM imaging utilizes a high sensitivity EM-CCD camera and the A1 confocal contains two highly sensitive GaAsP and two enhanced PMT detectors. ÌýThe instrument is equipped with six laser lines (405, 445, 488, 515, 561, and 647 nm) and a wide range of objectives including high NA 20x and 40x, an extra long working distance 40x, and a 100x 1.49 NA. ÌýThe Tokai Hit incubation chamber can be used on this microscope. ÌýThis microscope can be used for a wide range of applications and is particularly well suited to imaging at super-resolution and confocal imaging of dim samples.Ìý

The inverted Nikon spinning disk confocal microscope is equipped with four laser lines (405, 488, 561, and 647 nm), a range of objectives, and dual EM-CCD cameras for widefield and confocal imaging. ÌýAn additional 405 nm laser can be used for photobleaching or photoconversion imaging. ÌýA Tokai Hit incubation chamber is available for live cell imaging.Ìý

The inverted Zeiss LSM 510 laser scanning confocal microscope is equipped with three PMT detectors, seven laser lines (405, 458, 477, 488, 514, 543, 633 nm), motorized Z-drive and a wide range of objectives. ÌýThis instrument is best suited for confocal imaging of fixed samples.Ìý
